Living Bentwoud

Building new or rebuilding is a question that people often ask us. The location of this house fits perfectly with the lifestyle of our clients. That’s why they don’t want to leave this place. Only the house became a bit to small for this family so they needed extra space for the whole family for future years.

The only solution for this problem is making an extension on the first floor on top of the garage and cleaning up the existing space on the second floor. The ground floor is already renovated a few years ago.
Basically this is a way of expanding, which is done very often. However we were searching for an extension, which would enrich the living space inside the house and would give more power in its appearance on the outside. The choices we have made in the interior have formed a fitting image on the exterior. Instead of choosing the same kind of brickwork, we continued with a new façade material, natural wood, which greys overtime. This creates a volume with the right proportion to get the right connection with the house itself. We gave the new volume a slight jump in the front, so that it extents as a volume and will increase the current dynamics of the house.
